Join NYRR and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to celebrate the 15th annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K. The event offers something for everyone—thrilling performances in Central Park from some of the world's top athletes, a fast course for runners chasing PRs, a great cause to inspire everyone, finisher medals, excellent giveaways, including a technical shirt for every registered entrant, and a fantastic prize drawing.
Event hashtag: #UAEHK10K—use it in your tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!
Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org and in the NYRR app. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and because the system works great on mobile devices, you can get unofficial results right after the race!
The UAE Healthy Kidney 10K benefits the National Kidney Foundation in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president and the founder of the United Arab Emirates. The race was started to promote education and awareness of kidney health and kidney disease. Runners can support the National Kidney Foundation by making a donation during registration or by joining Team Kidney; stay tuned for more details on how you can join the team. Team Kidney benefits include team clothing, personal fundraising web site and e-newsletters with fundraising and training tips, important race information, and inspiration.
On race day, a UAE hospitality tent at the post-race festival will allow runners and spectators to experience Emirati culture.
The $30,000 Zayed Bonus, courtesy of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in honor of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, will be given to the first man to break 27:08 (Rhonex Kipruto, UAE Healthy Kidney 10K, 2018) and/or the first woman to break 30:44 (Lornah Kiplagat, New York Mini 10K, 2002).
Through a number of partnerships with US community organizations and institutions, the UAE and the U.S. are working together to encourage healthy lifestyles and support efforts to find cures for diseases. Find out more about the UAE-USA bilateral relationship on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Look for the hashtag #UAEUSA.
Your fee for the UAE Healthy Kidney 10K covers all NYRR race and administrative expenses. To support the mission of the National Kidney Foundation, please consider adding an additional donation to your payment when you register for the race.
Through a generous donation from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the Embassy will donate $5 to the National Kidney Foundation for every person who completes registration for the 2019 UAE Healthy Kidney 10K.
Do you have a connection to kidney disease or organ donation? Please share your story and why you are running with the National Kidney Foundation by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
