This race honors the late NYRR president and New York City Marathon co-founder, Fred Lebow (1932–1994). The course is two-plus loops of Central Park, which can be a challenge in January! Join the mid-winter fun and camaraderie—and perhaps kick off your training for a spring marathon. You'll have lots of good-spirited company, and you can enjoy classical music (Fred's favorite) at the start as well as inspiring Fred quotes along the course!
Please note: This event is not a part of the 4 Out of 6 program for guaranteed entry to the 2020 United Airlines NYC Half. The NYRR Manhattan 7 Mile will be a part of the 4 Out of 6 program in 2019. Runners who completed the 2018 NYRR Fred Lebow Manhattan Half can use that race for credit toward guaranteed entry to the 2019 United Airlines NYC Half.
Event hashtag: #FredLebowHalf—use it in your tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!
Prepare to crush two-plus loops of Central Park with the help of our NYRR Fred Lebow Half-Marathon Virtual Training Program, a 10-week program tailored to the course as well as to your schedule, your goals, and your fitness level.
Members of the NYRR Pace Team Presented by Biofreeze will guide participants toward specific goal times over the 13.1 miles. There will be signs in the corrals starting at 6:51 per mile, or a 1:30 finish time. If you choose to run with a pace group, pacers—you’ll recognize them by the NYRR Pace Team Presented by Biofreeze logo and the green and blue chevron design—will carry signs that correspond with their respective finish times and paces. Check below for a list of paces and finish times that team members will run.
