Michael Scher is a coach for NYRR Group Training and a coordinator for NYRR’s citywide free running program, Open Run. As a native of New York City, he spent his high school running career on the walkways and roads of Central Park and the hills of Van Cortlandt Park. Mike went on to run in college at the State University of New York at New Paltz. While there, he made the Cross Country Conference Hall of Fame and ran the second-fastest cross country time in school history.
Mike has personal best times of 1:54.70 for 800m, 3:57.41 for 1500m, 16:08 for 5K, and 25:45 for 8K.
