Ideal running weather favored the 5,102 participants—a record number—in Sunday’s ING New York City Marathon Tune-Up 18M. With cool, clear, and calm conditions at the 7:00 a.m. start, the chatter in the corrals was positive and upbeat—occasionally even giddy.
