Assistant Manager, Recruiting

The Assistant Manager, Recruiting is the first point of contact for all candidates.  This is an important role that is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and interviewing applicants for positions throughout our organization. The Assistant Manager, Recruiting must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all roles and functions in the organization, and a strong understanding of our organizational structure. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Act as a search expert for all areas of the organization by clearly understanding hiring needs, position specifications, and search requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-screen interviewing to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements while ensuring candidates are an appropriate fit.
  • Coordinate and schedule in office interviews with appropriate managers.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate recruiting procedures, detail and status to candidates, recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Work with external vendors providing recruiting and staffing services.
  • Responsible for internship program:  determine department needs, recruit, and interview.
  • Maintain Halogen for applicant tracking, candidate pools, and communication.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges, university and community college placement offices, and community centers and organizations while positively promoting career opportunities with New York Road Runners.
  • Attend job/career fairs as needed.
  • Provide information on our organization and job opportunities to potential applicants.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Responsible for maintaining and distributing staff clothing.
     
Requirements: 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and process management skills necessary to maintain high volume workload.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet search sites, and software applications.
  • Ability to work with very diverse groups of people at all levels of authority.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent training.
